NYC Food Assistance Network Policy and Advocacy Engagement Survey

As we prepare for the year ahead, your perspective on the ground is more crucial than ever. The Consortium of City Harvest, Food Bank For New York City, and United Way of New York City is sharing this crucial annual survey to ensure our collective advocacy is driven by your experiences and needs. To help us effectively advocate for essential programs like Community Food Connection (CFC), Hunger Prevention Nutrition Assistant Program (HPNAP), and Nourish NY, for the coming year, we simply need your feedback. This survey will directly guide our shared priorities and help us understand how recent policy shifts are impacting the neighbors you serve. Survey Details and Guidelines

Time Commitment: 8 minutes to fill out this survey
Single Submission: Complete the survey once for your organization
Assurance: Responses will not impact the food or support you receive
Duplication Check: We will use the latest submitted responses if there are multiples from a single organization.

New SNAP Work Requirements

The NYC Human Resources Administration (HRA) team, in partnership with City Harvest, Food Bank For NYC, and United Way of New York City, hosted a webinar on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 for Emergency Food Providers interested in becoming a qualified volunteer site for ABAWD SNAP recipients who may be subject to new work requirements. Changing federal requirements effective March 1, 2026 puts thousands of NYC SNAP recipients at risk to lose SNAP benefits. The emergency food system, at the front lines of feeding vulnerable New Yorkers each day, is uniquely positioned to offer volunteer opportunities to help mitigate this risk.
